Cheese color DS

Annatto is the common name for the edible colorant used in cheesemaking. Annatto is derived from the seeds of the annatto tree, Bixa orellana. Annatto is used as a colorant for foods, cosmetics, medicinal products and textiles. For the past 100 years in Europe and North America, it has been used to color butter, fats and cheese. Today, annatto is used in many food products in addition to dairy products.

GetCulture's Cheese Color DS is double-strength and contains annatto extract. This product meets Food Chemicals Codex specifications. Color strength may degrade over time due to pigment oxidation -- adjust usage for optimum results. Store in cool, dry, dark place.

      Hi,
I am doing researches for a school project. Normally the double strength annatto tends to have 2.5-2.8% norbixin by weight. How much norbixin does this contain?
      Hi Paul,

Our Double Strength Cheese Color is 2.45-2.55% norbixin by weight.
      Thank you!

I see the hechsher (kashrut certification symbol) on this bottle, but I need to ask whether this is valid for all sizes of the product, or only on the pint version. Is this a repackaged product, and if so, is the repackaging process also certified? I'd like to see the certificate, please.
      Hi Judith,
To answer your question, Yes, the Kosher status is valid for all sizes of this product.
GetCulture doesn't repackage any products. Our vendor that we purchase our private label products from is Kosher certified.
Kosher certificates are available for all products with a kosher status upon request.
